Podravka take on reigning champions

Despite lost chances for entering the Main Round, the players of the Croatian champions are highly motivated for the match against last year’s CL winners.

Truly this season HC Podravka Vegeta was not very fortunate. Financial problems led to key players leaving the team. This simply had to affect the final result. And still Podravka managed come very close to entering Main Round again.

Penezić and Pasičnik in Top 3

Two players from the Koprivnica side are amongst the best three scorers of the Champions League at this moment. Andrea Penezić scored 42 goals, Svitlana Pasičnik 33.

In the last CL match for Podravka Vegeta this season, their Danish opponent Viborg HK is the clear favourite. But that was also the situation before the first game in Koprivnica two months ago, when Podravka defeated the reigning Champions League winners 31:27. This was not the first time for Viborg to lose in Koprivnica.

The Croatian champions still have chances in Group A. If Leipzig beat Byåsen even one point could be enough for third place and CWC.
