Itxako sign Macarena Aguilar

24-year old Aguilar already won everything possible in Spain – Spanish Championship, Spanish League Cup, Spanish Cup (Copa de la Reina) and Spanish Supercup.

In 2008 she won Silver Medal on European Championship with national team of Spain.

Itxako made significant improvements in recent years. In last season they won Spanish Championship and EHF Cup for the first time in history, which gave them right to participate in CL:

"Itxako had excellent season and I know that it will be very difficult to maintain this level, and even more difficult to do better. There are many great teams in Spain and in Europe and we will have to be very lucky to do better then last season," said Aguilar.

CL challenge

Middle back emphasizes opportunity to again play in CL as main reason for joining hew new club:

"I don't like to loose, so I came here to win. Good thing is that I know many players from national team and I expect to adapt very soon."

Itxako also signed Spanish back player Patricia Pinedo from Bera Bera, Romanian line player Laura Gina Craciun from Motor Zaporozhye and Holland goalkeeper Marieke Van Der Wall.
