Zovko Optimistic, Podravka Prepare against Top Teams

Though the Croatian Podravka Vegeta did not sign new players to reinforce the squad for next season, the newly appointed coach, Zdravko Zovko, is very optimistic. His team was drawn in Group A and Zovko expects three home victories from his team:

“All groups are very similar in strength, so we could not get a weak group,“ says the Croatian coach. “The problem is that after a home match with Ribarroja, we play two away matches. I'm convinced that the key of success in the CL will be the first four matches played in 2007. We have to be absolutely ready for them. Our main goal is to collect all three victories at the home matches, but we don't plan to surrender in away matches either.“

The first test for the new coach and his team will be a strong tournament, the “Josip Samarzija-Bepo“ which will be held in Koprivnica 31 August - 1 September. The participants will be Hypo, Krim, Buducnost and Podravka. The Croatian handball fans from Koprivnica will surely enjoy top class handball in these preparation matches.
