Relief for Kolding: Spellerberg can return

It was a relief for Danish champions KIF Kolding and one of their absolute key players Bo Spellerberg, as the result of medical check of the 30-year old Danish international became known this week.

Spellerberg was ill for 10 days and missed Kolding´s last three matches – two in the Danish league and one in the Danish Cup – and it was feared that he suffered from glandular fever. In that case the season would probably be over for the experienced left back.

However, his doctor broke good news to Spellerberg and his team.

“I am not suffering from glandular fever and not even from an ordinary throat inflammation,” Spellerberg said.

It is still unknown if he will be fit for Saturday´s first leg against Montpellier HB in the round of the Last 16, but he is pretty optimistic.

“I have lost some weight and I'm a bit weakened, but I hope I can contribute to the team to a certain extent against Montpellier,” he said.
