QUARTER-FINAL REVIEW: Buducnost are ready for their fourth straight TIPPMIX EHF FINAL4 after another clear win against Larvik.
Buducnost make sure of FINAL4 place with emphatic win
Buducnost clinched their TIPPMIX FINAL4 berth with a five-goal away win against Larvik, who they had already defeated by 14 goals in the first leg of the quarter-finals.
QUARTER-FINAL, SECOND LEG
Larvik (NOR) vs Buducnost (MNE) 30:35 (15:16)
After cruising home with a 14-goal win in the first leg of their quarter-final against Larvik, Buducnost left no doubt in the second leg.
The Montenegrin side clinched their fourth FINAL4 berth out of four with another clear win in Larvik's Boligmappa Arena.
Larvik coach Tor Odvar Moen only had 12 players at his disposal. Even though this was more than he could field in the first match in Podgorica last Sunday, it was far from enough for the Norwegian hosts to keep up with their opponents in the second half as the difference in physical resources became more and more noticeable.
Buducnost romp home
Buducnost started strongly and seemed to be aiming to decide the match in the first half. After the visitors took an early lead, Larvik managed to come back and was briefly ahead at 15:14 with 22 minutes played.
Their opponents swiftly fought back and were one goal ahead at half-time.
Larvik failed to score again until eight minutes into the second half, and although they got within three goals of Buducnost at several points the Montenegrin side was always in control – at one point finding themselves seven goals ahead.
The final score left Buducnost some 19 goals clear on aggregate (66:47), putting them decisively through to the FINAL4.
