An exciting turn of events has seen Anja Andersen being released from the Romanian champions C.S. Oltchim Râmnicu Vâlcea and in a second step former coach Radu Voina return in order to try and save the Romanians from being eliminated from the EHF Champions League.

An official statement was published on Oltchim’s website: “Oltchim’s management is pleased to announce that Radu Voina has been convinced to return to coach the team. There is no immediate short term objective, but Voina’s mission will be to help the team to come back to the right track. Next year’s objective is to be discussed after the end of this season.”

Voina confirmed in an interview with Romanian news agency Mediafax: “I accepted the club’s proposal only because I have an interest as Romania’s national trainer. I will stay here until the end of the season and I have to see some changes if I were to stay longer.”

Two years ago Radu Voina helped Oltchim to reach the EHF Champions League semi-finals, last year the Romanian powerhouse reached the finals, but then lost against Viborg.
