Dinamo pass dress rehearsal

In the previous round of the Russian Championship Dinamo defeated Rostov Don 27:25 (15:12) in an away match.

The Match was quite equal until Dinamo managed to score six consecutive goals to turn the game from 9:7 to 9:13. The home team only managed to equalize a few times, but could never take the lead again.

Dinamo’s scorers proved to be in good shape as Levina and Kochetova both scored seven goals each, Khmyrova got in five. Goalkeeper Sedoykina had 15 saves (41%).

Currently Dinamo hold the top position of the Russian Championship table with an impressive maximum of 30 points out of 15 matches played. Runners-up Zvezda are four points behind, Lada in third place have 20 points from 14 matches played.

Best result in 10 years

Dinamo secured their place in top eight European teams by going through against Larvik, FCK and Budućnost. By entering the Main Round the Russian champions achieved their best CL result in last ten years. In 2000 they lost in the Champions League semi-finals to Kometal.

A large new challenge is coming up as their first opponent in Main Round is the last CL Winner, Viborg. This match will show the real capabilities of Dinamo in this Champions League season.
