Győr go for the main round

Győri Audi ETO KC will face a big task over the weekend when the Hungarians will host RK Gjorce Petrov. In case of a home victory, Győr would surely advance to the main round of the CL.

Eurohandball.com: During the week you played a very close game against Fehérép. Did they play so well or do you have to improve?

Konkoly Csaba: Fehérép were very well prepared for the game and they played a good handball. They have a good defence on a European level, so it was a good timing for us to play against them before a Champions League round.

Eurohandball.com: Did you see positive signs before the weekend game?

Konkoly: Our backcourt play was good and we could change to different structures in attack. We have to improve our defence that does not function perfectly yet.

Eurohandball.com: What about Görbicz, who is back from a three-week break?

Konkoly: We are working on her form and physical condition. This work needs time, but Anita will get back in form gradually. I expect the former Anita Görbicz back around February or March. This situation is an opportunity for the team and for the other players to take responsibility especially now that also Bradeanu is out.

Eurohandball.com: What would a victory mean for the team?

Konkoly: It would be crucially important and this is what we emphasise for the team as well. Our victory in Ikast gave us the chance back, but Skopje are also trying to get back in the race. This will be all-important for them too.

We want to win this game and secure a place in the main round.

Eurohandball.com: Who are the most dangerous players of Skopje?

Konkoly: We prepare from their backcourt and Portjanko and we want to allow them less efficiency from these positions respect to the away game. In addition, their wingers are also quite good.

It does not count any more that we won there: this will be a brand new game and we have to be prepared.
