KRIM IS NOT FAVOURITE

The coming two weekends will see a remake of the 2000/2001 Women’s Champions League finals. Slovenia's Krim Mercator will once again meet Viborg HK from Denmark. Krim is going for its third title – however, this time they are not the favourites.

The teams know each other well
The finals will be played between two clubs that know each other very well. Both teams were playing in Group A during the CL group stage. In the first match in Denmark Krim was more successful and afterwards also won the return match in Tivoli Hall in Ljubljana.

Despite of the two victories during the group stage coach Tone Tiselj is cautious: “Viborg is getting better and better. They recently won the Danish championship and defeated Slagelse on their way towards the CL final. Surely they are the favourites.”

Already reached the goal
Coach Tiselj, who took the club from the Slovenian capital to all their successes, still has problems with injured players. Goalkeeper Tatiana Alizar will not play as she has to undergo surgery besides that a few other players still have problems.

“We have reached what we wanted this season, so my girls are not under pressure. Our only aim is to play in accordance with the norms that are important in Krim,” Tiselj commented.

It is generally known that Tiselj is building all his tactics on the defence; in the past six years, where Tiselj has been head coach, this has been the most important part in Krim's matches.

5000 fans will help
The atmosphere in the Slovenian team – which has already secured the national championship and cup competition titles - is according to the players relaxed and highly motivated:

“We can hardly wait for the matches. Three weeks is a long time and it is difficult to keep the form. We know what our goal is and what to do in order to defeat Viborg, even though their form has improved a lot since the beginning of the season,” Tanja Oder told eurohandball.com.

On Sunday Hall Tivoli in Ljubljana will be “behind” Krim – the 5.000 seats are nearly sold out and a fantastic atmosphere is guaranteed.
