TERTNES DID THE JOB

 

Tertnes needed a point tomake sure of a place in the Cupwinners Cup and did what was expected of them intheir home match against DIN Nis.

 

Both Tertnes and DIN Nis wereout of the running for a place in the next round of Champions League. The onlyquestion surrounding the match between the teams in Bergen was which of theteams would qualify for the quarter-finals of the Cupwinners Cup.

 

The guests from Serbia &Montenegro took control of the match from start, leading 5-2. But Tertnes wasthe better team and it didn’t take long before they were in the lead.

 

At half time the teams werelevel, 11-11.

 

Even though they didn’t playup to their best, Tertnes controlled the match in the last 30 minutes and whenthe final whistle went, they were winning 30-25. The team’s captain Hege Vikeböwas their top scorer with nine goals. The same as DIN Nis’ Liljana Knezevic.

 

Knezevic’ ended as the groupstage’s top scorer with 55 goals. Tertnes will now go into the quarterfinals ofthe Cupwinners Cup, where they could be drawn against their Norwegian rivalsLarvik.
