Sävehof put themselves in a good position by beating Schaffhausen

Second Swedish home victory

Group A of the VELUX EHF Champions is full of tension again: By beating Kadetten Schaffhausen, Swedish champions IK Sävehof can hope for the Last 16, as the Swiss champions need to beat Sävehof in the next round rematch by more than seven goals to win the direct encounter.

Group A:

IK Sävehof (SWE) vs. Kadetten Schaffhausen (SUI) 31:25 (16:14)

Sävehof overtook Kadetten in the ranking after a brilliant performance after the break with four points, two points ahead of the Swiss, who lost their fourth consecutive match. Sävehof took their second straight home victory after beating Bosna in Round 4.

After the first half was equal, Sävehof goalkeeper Forsberg shut the gate after the break, as the Swedish attack had no problems in scoring. In the first ten minutes of the second half Schaffhausen could only stand the pressure of the Gothenburg team with the score of 24:21 for the host in minute 46. But by scoring another 4:1 series to 28:22 the Swedish decided the game thank to eight goals of Friden and seven of Apelgren.
