The Croatian right-winger will need to take a 4-6 week break because of a knee injury.

Ivan Čupić injured his knee in the Croatia vs. Romania qualification match for the EHF EURO 2012. At first, the injury didn’t look serious, but at training sessions a few days later, Čupić felt pain and went for further examinations.

Doctors declared that the 24-year-old has to undergo an operation because the meniscus was damaged. The recovery process is expected to be 4-6 weeks.

"I’m used to injuries in my career, and it’s strange that this particular right knee injury didn’t immediately put me out of action. I’m now waiting for an operation, after which I’ll know for sure how serious the injury is. There could be good news though, as, if the cartilage has not been damaged, I could be back in 3 weeks." - said Čupić.
