PRINT VERSION:

Džomba leaves Zagreb

Mirza Džomba decided not to play for Zagreb Croatia osiguranje any more. „I agreed with the club not to prolong my contract. In total I spent eight seasons in Zagreb, now it is time for a change."

The 33 year old returned to Zagreb three years ago after three successful years at Ciudad Real. Furthermore World Championship gold from Portugal 2003, Olympic Gold from Athens 2004 and a Champions League title from 2006 are only part of his great curriculum vitae.

It is unclear whether Džomba will end his carrier or continue playing for another club.

Zagreb wins 19th Croatian championship

In the 25th round of the Croatian league Zagreb Croatia osiguranje defeated Siscia with 40:28. Kopljar scored 12 goals, Horvat 9 times, goalkeeper Škof had 17 saves.

With 25 consecutive victories, the Zagreb team has now secured the Croatian championship.
