Hamburg to overcome injury problems

HSV Hamburg are running low on players before the decisive stage of the season. After well known problems and players missing for longer periods - Oleg Velyky (cancer treatment) and Guillaume Gille (elbow operation) - now also Torsten Jansen, Matzthias Flohr and Stefan Schröder will miss the next weeks.

Grimm will have an important role in the weeks to comeSchröder has broken his hand, Jansen has a torn muscle and Flohr will miss a month after a cruciate ligament injury.

Both left wingers, Jansen and Flohr, were injured during the CL match against Flensburg on Sunday and they will not be able to play on Wednesday in the Bundesliga against Gummersbach and on Sunday at the decisive CL match in Portland San Antonio.

“We have to change a lot, I hope it will be enough to win these important matches,” says Martin Schwalb. The coach will give his new backcourt player, Heiko Grimm, much more playing time in these matches – on the left wing.
