New coach in Celje

After the defeat in the Round 4 of the Champions League in Iceland, Celje's management dismiss coach Kasim Kamenica. The new coach of the team will be Slavko Ivezic.

There were rumors even before the decision. Kasim Kamenica, who started to work as a coach of the Slovenian champions in June 2006, was under lot of pressure almost from the beginning. However, the last straw was Sunday’s defeat in Reykjavik against Valur. The management held a meeting and unanimously decided to terminate the contract of coach Kamenica.

His successor was also named. Slavko Ivezic, sports director, will take the team over. Ivezic was coaching Celje before, when former coach Josip Sojat was sacked in 2001/02.

Ivezic was already presented to the players and he held Tuesday's training in Zlatorog hall.
