Hamburg-Coach Martin Schwalb (44) has prolongered his contract with the German runners-up until 2011. The contract was signed by Schwalb and club-boss Andreas Rudolph on Friday at the pre-season press conference of HSV.

Hamburg-Coach  Martin Schwalb (44) has prolongered his contract with the German runners-up until 2011. The contract was signed by Schwalb and club-boss Andreas Rudolph on Friday at  the pre-season press conference of HSV. The old contract was valid until the end of the forthcoming season (2008). Schwalb has coached the club since 2005, in his era the HSV became German Cup Winner and Supercup Winner in 2006, runners-up and winner of the European Cup of the Cup Winners last season. The former national player became three times German Champion and cup-winner as a player and reached the bronze-medal with the national team at the EURO 1998.
