Danish Champions Happy with CL Draw

The atmosphere is good at the Danish champion, GOG SvendborgTGI, after the CL draw. GOG are in Group D with Spanish runner-up Portland San Antonio, Slovak champion Tatran Presov and the winner of the qualification tie between Italian Italgest Caserano and Austrain Bregenz A1.

“We are very happy with this draw. Portland San Antonio are an extremely attractive team for our spectators, while we should be able to beat the other teams of the group – no matter if they will be the Italians or the Austrians,” GOG director, Arne Buch, told Eurohandball.com.

Qualification is realistic

“Reaching the second group phase is definitely a realistic aim in this group. However, it may be difficult to finish first, as Portland San Antonio are extremely strong opponents. They have Ivano Balic and Lars Jørgesen in addition to a number of other international stars,” said Arne Buch.

“However, we have some positive experience with Portland from the EHF Cup a few years ago, when we played two close matches against them. Anyway, they will be attractive for our spectators to watch,” added the GOG director.
