VELUX EHF FINAL4 memorabilia to be auctioned on eBay for UNICEF

The VELUX EHF FINAL4 in May 2011 was the biggest event in club handball history with 40,000 people witnessing the final stages of the VELUX EHF Champions League in the LANXESS arena, Cologne, Germany.

Handball fans around the world will have the chance from Friday 24 June to own their little bit of history thanks to the launch of a special auction on the eBay website where a whole host of VELUX EHF FINAL4 memorabilia will be available to bid for.

Items available include signed match shirts from each of the four teams – HSV Hamburg, Renovalia Ciudad Real, Rhein-Neckar Löwen and the VELUX EHF Champions League winners; F.C. Barcelona Borges.

There are many other items which are not normally available to the public and handball fans such as TV bibs, match handballs, adidas hooded jumpers, t-shirts, scarves and the must-have city flag, as seen across Cologne during the VELUX EHF FINAL4 weekend.

Proceeds from the auction will go to the VELUX EHF FINAL4 Charity Partner, UNICEF and their ‘Schools for Africa’ campaign, which has already received €15,000 from the EHF via ticket sales for the sold-out weekend in a cheque presentation by EHF Treasurer, Ralf Dejaco to UNICEF Ambassador, Sandra Thier, during the event in Cologne.

Through their campaign UNICEF is appealing for donations towards the construction of additional classrooms, teaching materials and teacher training in Madagascar and other African countries. UNICEF in Germany has already built 54 pilot schools in Rwanda and 150 new classrooms in Mozambique and by 2015 they aim to enable 13 million children to receive basic education and the chance of a better life.

The VELUX EHF FINAL4 UNICEF eBay auction will launch on Friday 24 June at 12:00 (CET) and finish on Monday 4 July at 12:00 (CET) – do not miss out on this chance to own a small part of handball history!
