EHF Champions League QualificationOver 3/4/5 September 2010 four qualification tournaments threw off the 2010/11 EHF Champions League season. While three Men’s tournaments gave away three direct tickets to the Group Phase, the Women’s tournament in Gothenburg’s Partillebohallen was only Qualification Round 1 of 2 to the Group Matches. EHF Women’s Champions League Qualification Tournament 1With three straight victories in three games Swedish champions IK Sävehof impressively managed to take advantage of their home soil. Together with T+A/VOC Amsterdam, who besides the defeat against the Swedes won both other games, they proceed to the next round, the EHF Women’s Champions League Qualification Tournament 2. IK Sävehof will now play in Qualification Tournament 2 Group 3, T+A/VOC Amsterdam go to Group 2. All four EHF Women’s Champions League Qualification Tournaments 2 will be played on 17/18/19 September 2010. Gil Eanes/Lagos dos Descobrimentos (POR), who ended up on third place, continue in the EHF Cup Round 2, and meet Artro Teramo (ITA) with the first leg game away. The fourth of the tournament, LK ZUG Handball (SUI), also continue in the EHF Cup Round 2, and meet Izmir BSB SK (TUR) with the first leg game away. The first leg matches of EHF Cup Round 2 will be carried out on 16/17 October, the second leg matches are to be played one week later on 23/24 October 2010. Tatran Presov will proceed to Men's EHF Champions League Group B. The three other teams continue in the EHF Cup Round 2. A1 Bregenz (AUT) will meet A.C. PAOK (GRE) with the first leg game away, Besiktas JK (TUR) play against Pölva Serviti (EST) with the first leg game at home and Drammen HK (NOR) duel with HC Gumarny Zubri (CZE) with the first leg game at home. The first leg matches of EHF Cup Round 2 will be carried out on 2/3 October, the second leg matches are to be played one week later on 9/10 October 2010. Dinamo Minsk will proceed to Men's EHF Champions League Group C, the three other teams continue in the EHF Cup Round 2. FC Porto (POR) will meet Energia Lignitul Pandurii Targu-Jiu (ROU) with the first leg game away. ZTR Zaporozhye (UKR) play against the winner of the Round 1 duel between A.C. "Latsia" Kentriki Asfalistiki (CYP) and S.P.E Strovolos (CYP) with the first leg game away. HC Metalurg (MKD) will meet HC Meshkov Brest (BLR) with the first leg game away. EHF Cup Round 1 – that will decide the opponent of Zaporozhye – will be played in two matches on 10 and 11 September 2010. The first leg matches of EHF Cup Round 2 will be carried out on 2/3 October, the second leg matches are to be played one week later on 9/10 October 2010.
