Pascual confirmed in Barcelona

The young and upcoming coach signs for two more seasons.

Xavier Pascual has renewed his contract with Barcelona until 30 June 2011. The agreement with the Spanish club has been officially confirmed and the coach is very happy for the possibility to continue his work on the Barcelona bench.

Pascual took the place of Manuel Cadenas three months ago. The new contract is a positive signal from the management about the job he is doing with the team.

Pascual was believed to be an interim solution by some, but Enric Masip has given him full confidence:

“I am really happy and I feel the support of the club. They have confidence in me, in my technical staff and in the team,” Pascual said after beinginformed about the decision.

Pascual has never denied being a great “cule” (Barcelona fan).

“I am really proud of leading this team and I always felt the support of the club. I said before that I would not refuse a new contact. For a 'cule', as I am, it is a pride to be player and coach of Barcelona”.
